Dustin Roy Aqumelghii Iworrigan

December 2, 1989 – August 4, 2023

Dustin Roy Aqumelghii lworrigan was born to William Tony lworrigan and Janice Reyes on December 2, 1989. He went to be with the Lord on August 4, 2023.

Dusty was taken in by Grandma Irene Ross shortly after birth. He was raised by Lil Gram along with brother Ira with loving care.

Dusty attended Gambell schools and graduated May 15, 2010. He worked at the school with special needs kids for many years. Dusty was able to connect with the students he worked with. He loved Austin and loved working with him. He was patient and kind. He never raised his voice at anyone. He worked well with fellow teachers and classified staff. Dusty was always willing to go the extra mile to help staff and students. He took to his work with dedication and passion.

In 2016 Dusty started helping Ira coach wrestling. He loved all the kids Ira coached no matter the sport. Ira coached, Dusty took care of them. He would even make team dinners before wrestling trips. Last year, he finally passed his coaching tests and was able to become assistant coach. Their wrestling team placed first. They sent several students to state.

During the summertime, Dusty’s passion was fishing. His favorite fishing/traveling partner was Neguuti. They would often stop by at lqalugsiq to visit his sister Dolly, along with Kiing and family and of course Ira and Aboo.

His grandparents Willis and Nancy Walunga cared a lot for Dusty by remembering him during Christmas and his birthday. Later on, he visited them on occasion to show respect.

Dusty was soft spoken. He was very humble, kind and respectful. He helped a lot around the house with chores and cooked a lot. Despite being quiet and soft spoken, his love towards others was loud and clear. He befriended and showed kindness to everyone he came across.

Dusty, you will be greatly missed by family and friends. We love you. You left a vacant space in our hearts and minds. Happy trails to you. May the good Lord bless you and keep you in his loving arms. You will forever be in our hearts and minds. God will take care of you.

Dusty is survived by his brother Ira and his favorite niece Christina; Uncle Aaron. Other brother Kenny and family. His sisters Dolly and family, Pickle and boys. His biological dad Tony and Aruutta.
