Lawrence Bruce Davis

It is with immense emotion that the family of Lawrence Bruce Davis announce his passing. 

His passions were his family, reindeer and fishing. Bruce loved to gain knowledge. He was an avid student throughout his life. He excelled through high school and continued his education through college. 

There he met his wife Ann. After a brief engagement they married and enjoyed and dedicated 42 years of marriage. 

He retired from his job of 36 years on the North Slope as an electrician, lineman and electrical administrator to pursue the ever-busy life of a reindeer rancher.  

For the last decade, he and Ann worked tirelessly on rebuilding the ranch outside of Nome along with refining herding techniques to keep reindeer herding alive on the Seward Peninsula, a legacy that continues. 

His wife, kids, and grandchildren will miss his clattering around the kitchen in the early morning hours, tempting everyone awake with the smell of bacon and coffee. 

He is survived by his loving wife, two kids, many grandchildren, great grandchild, mother, siblings, and family. 

To many of his friends and acquaintances to know Bruce is to know with his passing we are losing a great man, son, sibling, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. 

Covid has restricted our ability to grieve in a fashion we are used to. We ask for respect in the difficult decisions in light of these abnormal times and situations. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alaska USA account 1134708 DAVIS

The family is limited to this option as Covid has impaired large gatherings.
